April Skincare Update
At the beginning of last month I wrote about the beginning of my new skincare routine and the products I bought for it. This is the second part and my first testing results of those mentioned products from the brand The Ordinary. I know, that I wanted to update you at beginning of this month, but here it finally is, even though later than promised.
After rereading my first skincare post, I noticed that I didn't tell you about what I usually do in general, so I decided to include it in this second part of this "series".
After removing my makeup with the Garner Skin Micellar Cleansing Water, I usually wash my face with light warm water and baby wash. Yes, your eyes didn't betray you, I wash my face with baby wash. After trying out dozens of different types of face wash and every single one causing extreme dryness and other not welcomed skin irritations, a doctor told me to use baby wash. And well, I love it. Due to it being original used on babies sensitive skin, the wash is utterly gentle on everyones skin. Since I started using it, my skin is less irritated. You'll probably have to life with weird glances from other costumers in drugstores while buying the wash, but you'll get used to it.
And that's basically what I do before I start applying the products from The Ordinary.
So, let's get started with the experiences I've made using the products for a month.
Lactic Acid 5% + HA
To be honest with you, I waited probably a week till I got myself to try this acid. As I mentioned, this product is supposed to function as a peeling and shouldn't be used on the daily basis, but I've also read, that it could cause rashes, when used on sensitive skin. Of course I still wanted to try it (you've got to overcome your fears, huh?). Overall, I've used this product around five times and I haven't gotten any redness yet. It makes the skin feel really smooth and soft afterwards. Please do not be confused by the tickling feeling after applying, it's supposed to be that way.
Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG
I haven't really made up my mind about this product yet. I feel like my eyes are less swollen in the morning, but haven't noticed a reduction when it comes to dark under- eyes. So, I will continue my testing a little further and let you know what I think.
Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%
This product is the one I like the most and find the most effective. After using it a couple of times, I noticed less blemishes and red dots around my face. My skin looks overall more even.
Let's just say, I really needed this product, because I feel like my skin decided to gang up on me. As I said in my previous skincare post, I tend to get extremely dry patches on mainly my cheeks, under-eyes and around my nose. Probably due to constant use of heaters during this weather. This product really helped me to get the patches under control in a short amount of time. Even my sister borrows this stuff daily for her face. As for now, I haven't really discovered any negative side-effects (yay).
In about a month time, I want to update you again and tell you about experiences. I would love to hear about your experiences and recommendations.
