My Skincare Routine
Through out the years my skin has been though a lot. Stress, weather, urban air, touching and picking (a nervous habit of mine), puberty and the list goes on. So naturally, it changed along those circumstances, because we can't walk around with a mask on all the time to prevent any damage and blemishes. I've always loved reading about other peoples skincare routines and tips for certain skin types.
While being in puberty, I suffered from extremely dry and sensitive skin, decorated with acne on mostly my forehead and chin. Because of that, I've tried multiple creams and serums, with and without alcohol and acids. A small amount of products helped me though out a certain time, but never for long. I also went to a beautician. But let's be honest, who can afford that?
Due to me always thinking about my skin being dry, I never noticed the change it went through. So the spending money on rich and oil containing creams continued. Now I've noticed the shiny and oily film, that layers on my face an hour after washing it and my pores being extremely clogged. It's time to change my routine.
In the next couple of weeks I want to try some new products. After I did some research, I decided to try products from The Ordinary. I'm pretty sure most of you have already read or heard about this brand and their products*. For now, I purchased four different items.
Lactic Acid 5% + HA
This product is used as a lighter peeling solution. It's know, that people with clogged pores and oily skin should do a peeling at least once a week to free their skin from any dirt and scales. I'm actually slightly afraid to start using this product, due to some comments I read about it may coursing dryness and irritation.
Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG
This product is used for reducing dark under-eyes and swelling. People say, that it's one of the most effectinate products form The Ordinary. Through out the winter season I developed some quite prominent dark under-eyes, so this is just a bonus for my skincare routine.
Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%
Niacinamide is used for reducing clogged pores and blemishes. Additionally, it counteracts the sebum production. I've only heard good things about this product, so I'm excited to try it out.
The main reason for why I chose to buy this item are the dry patches I get on my face from time to time, due to the winter season and the heaters. This product pushes the natural surface hydration and prevents hydration loss. I really love that it's oil- and alcohol-free, so it can be used on all types of skin.
In a month from now, I'm going to update you on how my skin has developed and how these products have turned out for me.
If you have any recommendations of products that I should try out or you think that would help me, please comment down below.
